If you have tried to root your Sony Xperia M and failed to properly unlock the boot-loader using the Flash-boot mode your mobile may not get booted and keeps on flashing the xperia theme for hours and it won't gets switch on. In this condition you cant even connect to your Sony PC Companion. The only thing you can do is to flash the stock with the generic firmware using the flash-tool software.

In this tutorial I will explain you how to flash your bricked or rebooting mobile to normal state. you can further continue with your rooting after the flash.

The below tutorial is tested for Sony Xperia M Dual C2004 4.3 Jellybean update 15.5.A.1.5 latest firmware only on windows 8.1 32-bit operating system successfully. Do at your own risk, may lead to brick if not followed properly or any failure while flashing. Please keep a backup of all your important files.

Download and install flashtool software

First of all install and download flash tool software, you can download from here Link 1

You also need to download the firmware stock update from here Link 1
(The Firmware stock is of 8 parts in 99MB each, you need to unzip the first part only to get the C2004_15.5.A.1.5_GENERIC_IN.ftf in a single file, you have to copy this file into firmwares folders as shown in the below image)

NOTE: Keep you mobile charged at-least by 60% and keep it switch off completely while flashing and keep the key pressing don't release till it gets finished.

You may not find any shortcut if you have not checked it during installation on your windows 8.1, no problem you can find the Flash-tool folder in C: drive

How to run Flashtool
Now double click on Flashtool.exe to run the application
What to select  flashmode or fastbootmode
Click on Flash icon & Select the Flashmode and press ok
Select the stock firmware from the list, here select C2004 Version 15.5.A.1.5 and keep other things unchanged and click on Flash to prepare for flashing your mobile

Switch off your mobile completely if it is on or take the battery out for some time if it is rebooting. Now pressing the volume down button (in flashmode) of your mobile put into the USB of your PC. Hold the button till the flashboot get finished or it shows Flashing Finished.

Unplug the USB now

you are Done !

Now switch on your mobile as normal, but it will take up-to 20 minutes to install the pre-loaded apps and does the configuration work. If you have the same reboot problem in any step during the rooting of your sony xperia you may need to flash it again without any necessity of USB debugging property enabled.
